Are my files private?

The privacy of files stored on Virtual Disk is not guaranteed. While SGCS takes every precaution to safeguard your private data, anyone with access to or the ability to view your USF ID Card has enough information to access your files on Virtual Disk. Virtual Disk is considered public storage.

Disclaimer

SGCS, its staff and/or management are in no way responsible for safeguarding your data! It is your own responsibility to maintain backups of all software uploaded to virtual disk as any issues with the loss of data, corruption of data and/or the altering of your data are outside the realms of responsibility of staff here at USF SGCS. SGCS staff can not restore lost data nor provide any sort of services regarding said lost data. This includes access both on-campus as well as off.

While we sympathize with any users with lost data, we can only ask you protect yourself and maintain another copy elsewhere.

What is Virtual Disk?

Virtual Disk is a service provided by SGCS that eliminates the need to use disks or USB drives to store data.

Students may use this page to upload and store any type of file for 10 days, with no maximum size limit.
